A woman has been charged after a house fire in Currumbin Valley yesterday.
It broke out around 4.00am, at a house on Tomewin Mountain Road.
A man and a woman – both aged 61 – were able to escape the blaze, which destroyed the home and an attached cabin.
The man suffered burns to his hands, singed hair and smoke inhalation.
He was taken to hospital for treatment.
Fire Investigators returned to the scene later in the morning to determine the cause of the blaze.
A 24-year-old woman has since been charged with arson and will appear at Southport Magistrates Court today.
